Made in San Jose by Good Neighbor.

The GODSPEED Garage proposal, here on this site — the pop-up weekend, the space, and the plan, in the sections below.

Midtown Arts Mercantile, 460 Lincoln Ave, San Jose

The Midtown Arts Mercantile — the building at 460 Lincoln Ave, San Jose.

Proposal · May 14-16, 2027 · Willow Glen, San Jose

The 1st Annual Motorcycle & Vintage Car Show

Three days. One legendary address. Motorcycles fill the hall, exotics, vintage cars and lowriders fill the lot — GODSPEED Garage's first pop-up at the Midtown Arts Mercantile, launching GODSPEED Garage Magazine, Issue No. 1, on opening night — and closing Sunday with the launch of DGR Godspeed Garage Silicon Valley, a new Distinguished Gentleman's Ride group.

  • Where: 460 Lincoln Ave, San Jose
  • When: Friday, May 14 – Sunday, May 16, 2027
  • Format: Friday night · Saturday show · Sunday — Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Day
  • Phase 2: Suite 85 — next to Hapa's · pop-up spring-summer 2027, rent fall/winter 2027/2028

A note before the details

Jeff, Tamara, and Jared,

Jeff — for twenty-five years you have been my mentor. In 2016 I was lucky enough to brand this building. Now that the remodel is underway, I am asking for one spring weekend — Friday, May 14 through Sunday, May 16, 2027.

I am proposing it in phases. Phase 1 — this spring — is the proof of concept: about 10,000 square feet. And that Sunday carries some history. Sunday, May 16, 2027 is Distinguished Gentleman's Ride day. This page is the whole plan: the concept, the weekend, the floor, and exactly what I will take off your hands.

— Joelle Cruz, Founder — Godspeed Garage, Made in San Jose by Good Neighbor. Prepared October 2026 · Show dates proposed: May 14-16, 2027.

Phase 1 · May 14-16, 2027 · The proof of concept

The pop-up comes first

Everything in this proposal is earned by one weekend: the 1st Annual GODSPEED Garage Motorcycle & Vintage Car Show.

The pop-up — proof of concept

  • One weekend — Friday, May 14 to Sunday, May 16, 2027: Friday night through Sunday afternoon.
  • About 10,000 sq ft — the main front space mid-building, formerly Terra Amico.
  • Classic show format: all motorcycles inside the hall.
  • Exotics, vintage cars & lowriders outside in the parking lot.
  • GODSPEED Garage Magazine Issue No. 1 launches opening night.
  • Sunday, May 16 — Distinguished Gentleman's Ride day — launches DGR Godspeed Garage Silicon Valley.

Lock the dates now — the marketing starts now

  • Step one · Now — Lock the dates: the May 14-16, 2027 dates are locked in now, the anchor for everything: exhibitors, sponsors, press.
  • Step two · Now — Organic social begins: organic social media marketing starts immediately — save-the-dates, builder stories, the build-up.
  • Step three · January 2027 — Paid ads — $5,000: in January 2027, GODSPEED invests in paid ads, about a $5,000 budget, for the final push.

The pop-up checklist

  • 1 · Print — postcards, flyers, and posters.
  • 2 · Merch — clothing: GODSPEED tees and gear for the weekend, designed and printed before the doors open.
  • 3 · Music — raising money for a DJ.
  • 4 · Food — food trucks invited, alongside the Filipino kitchen inside.
  • 5 · Crew — extra help for load-in, the floor, the lot, and load-out.
  • 6 · Coverage — cinematographers and drone operators, full photo and video coverage.

Phase 1 · The pop-up weekend — May 14-16, 2027

Three days, three different shows

Friday night is the party. Saturday is the show. Sunday is the neighborhood — and the ride.

Day one · Friday, May 14 — Opening Night · 5 PM – 10 PM

  • Doors open, ribbon cutting on Lincoln Ave.
  • First look at the full show floor.
  • GODSPEED Garage Magazine — Issue No. 1 unveiled.
  • Live band in the big doorway, spilling onto the patio.
  • Builders' preview — meet the people behind the machines.
  • Food & drink: Filipino kitchen, halo-halo bar, coffee.

Day two · Saturday, May 15 — The Show · 9 AM – 6 PM

  • Motorcycles fill the hall; exotics, vintage cars & lowriders fill the lot.
  • Judged classes, plus a People's Choice ballot for every guest.
  • Builder talks on stage — the stories behind the builds.
  • Cafe & lounge open all day — Chesterfields, communal tables.
  • Retail row: BRIM hats, GODSPEED merch, upcycle marketplace.
  • Family hours — kids free to wander the rows with parents.

Day three · Sunday, May 16 — Community Day — and the Ride · 12 PM – 4 PM

  • Distinguished Gentleman's Ride day — dapper riders on classic & vintage machines, riding for men's health.
  • The launch of DGR Godspeed Garage Silicon Valley — a new ride group, founded here at the Mercantile.
  • Cars & coffee roll-in from 11 AM — doors at noon.
  • Awards ceremony — class winners & People's Choice.
  • Magazine signing & story corner with featured builders.
  • Neighborhood afternoon: Willow Glen families welcome.
  • The closing lineup — every machine out front, one last photo.

Start with 10,000 square feet

The proof of concept takes the main space in the middle of the building — the front hall that used to be Terra Amico. Motorcycles inside; exotics, vintage cars and lowriders in the lot; entry and welcome through the front doors; cafe and coffee; magazine and retail by the entry; the lounge; patio and food with string lights.

Phase 2 · The actual space

Suite 85 — The GODSPEED Boutique

This is not a new idea. On September 13, 2021, Joelle emailed the Mercantile team about Suite 85 — next to Hapa's Brewing.

  • The space: Suite 85 — 1,459 SF usable / 1,746 SF rentable, a long, tall bay next to Hapa's Brewing.
  • The concept: GODSPEED, a moto-inspired maker boutique — custom apparel and hats made by hand on site.
  • The maker fit: the Mercantile is a makers' building — and GODSPEED is a maker, not just a retailer.
  • The cool factor: fedoras, caps, clothing & apparel printing, decorated with cool motorcycles and a moto atmosphere.
  • The wheels: e-MTB electric mountain bikes (no competition with Good Karma Bikes), plus e-skateboards.
  • The sequence: Suite 85 opens as a pop-up for spring-summer 2027, with t-shirt equipment in place.
  • The print operation: the office side of Suite 85 doubles as the Made in San Jose print operation.

Letter of Intent — Suite 85 · October 17, 2026

To: The Owners and Director — Midtown Arts Mercantile. From: Joelle Cruz, Founder — Godspeed Garage. Re: Letter of intent to lease Suite 85, 460 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95126.

  • 1 · Premises — Suite 85, Midtown Arts Mercantile, 460 Lincoln Ave, San Jose — 1,459 SF usable / 1,746 SF rentable.
  • 2 · Proposed use — GODSPEED: a moto-inspired maker operation — goods made by hand on site, including silk screen printing.
  • 3 · Timing — Suite 85 opens as a GODSPEED pop-up for spring-summer 2027, with the t-shirt equipment in place.
  • 4 · Terms — Straight commercial lease terms — rent, term length, and commencement — to be agreed between the parties.

This letter of intent is a non-binding expression of interest, offered for discussion. It is not a lease.

Phase 3 · The permanent home

The GODSPEED Garage

  • GODSPEED Garage as a permanent tenant — approx. 5,000–10,000 sq ft.
  • The permanent GODSPEED Garage — open 24/7/365.
  • Cafe & Filipino kitchen, the lounge, retail row, barber & tattoo chairs.
  • Room for the show, the magazine, and the community, all year.
  • Comes after the pop-up and Suite 85 prove the concept.

More than a show. A home for motor culture.

This is where the road leads. GOD·SPEED Garage is meant to be a unique space — a bad-ass lounge, and a home for motor culture. All are welcomed under the GOD·SPEED roof, where there is simply respect for the honesty and enjoyment of the ride.

The long-term destination for 460 Lincoln Ave is GODSPEED Garage as a permanent tenant — approximately 5,000–10,000 square feet.

Then: a permanent home

When the pop-up and Suite 85 prove it, GODSPEED becomes a permanent tenant — approximately 5,000–10,000 square feet, with entry and welcome, motorcycle row, vintage car row, the lounge, cafe and coffee, stage, magazine launch stand, retail row, Filipino kitchen and halo-halo bar, barber and tattoo chairs, and the patio with string lights.

Phase 2 · The product

The GODSPEED Jersey — the boutique's first line

The apparel is not a someday idea either. The GODSPEED long-sleeve riding jersey is designed and ready — front with chest wordmark and quarter-zip, back with the big orange mark, and a three-quarter side print.

The 2027 Collection — the Deus Ex Machina apparel aesthetic

The line has a design language, and it takes its cue from the Deus Ex Machina apparel aesthetic — the moto-cafe, workshop, and road-trip look, translated for GODSPEED: long-sleeve jerseys, tees, caps, fedoras, hoodies, and gear with a story.

Every GODSPEED jersey design — the full gallery: 226 pieces in the complete GODSPEED jersey design gallery in the original proposal. The full gallery runs to 226 designs, from the first jersey proofs to the complete line.

The launch

GODSPEED Garage Magazine, Issue No. 1

The show does not end on Sunday. It ships in print. Issue No. 1 of GODSPEED Garage Magazine is unveiled Friday night at the Mercantile — the show you can take home.

  • The show program — every machine on the floor, and the story behind it.
  • Builder & shop stories — the Bay Area builders, restorers, and family shops GODSPEED exists to champion.
  • The building — the Mercantile's 1918 roots, its 2016 rebirth, and its GODSPEED future.
  • The road ahead — what a permanent GODSPEED Garage at 460 Lincoln Ave looks like.

Every exhibitor is featured. Every guest gets the show in their hands. From the first edition: the cover, and inside — the Redwood Run, and Under the Canopy.

Sunday, May 16, 2027 · The ride

The weekend ends on two wheels

Sunday, May 16, 2027 is Distinguished Gentleman's Ride day — the worldwide ride where thousands of riders dress dapper and ride classic and vintage machines for men's health.

DGR Godspeed Garage Silicon Valley

A brand-new Distinguished Gentleman's Ride group for Silicon Valley, launched by Joelle Cruz under the GODSPEED Garage name.

The plan, drawn on the real building

These are Joelle's own photographs of the Midtown Arts Mercantile — the real hall, the real front lot, the real building. The hall: 100+ motorcycles in display rows, stage, DJ and awards at the far end, jersey wall and retail. The front lot: exotic row, vintage row, lowriders, and the main entry, Saturday and Sunday. Back of house: 11 AM roll-in through the rear doors, vendor staging along the wall.

The building: the Midtown Arts Mercantile is 40,000 square feet of San Jose history — a 98-year-old landmark, with 1918 cannery and agricultural roots. When it reopened in 2016, its anchor tenants included Hapa's Brewing, Chromatic Coffee, and Good Karma Bikes. The venue photographs show the sawtooth roofline at dusk, the monument M sign, the M over the main entry, timber trusses and clerestory light, and the retail walkway and corridor.
